I have been providing counseling to individuals since 1985. I have been a volunteer with the Suicide and Crisis Center since 1981. As a volunteer with that agency, I have provided telephone crisis counseling. Currently, with the Crisis Center, I am a group facilitator for support groups for individuals who have lost a loved one to suicide. I have been a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor since 1991 and have worked extensively with adolescent substance abusers and their families. In 2004, I completed the requirements to be a Licensed Professional Counselor and have subsequently worked with individuals, couples and families. I began my private practice in September, 2009.
My areas of expertise are the treatment of substance abuse, grief and loss, anger management, anxiety, relationship issues and stress management. Therapeutically, I use Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Emotional Transformation Therapy and Solution Focused Brief Therapy in assisting my clients achieve their individual goals. My office is located at 12830 Hillcrest Rd., Suite 111, Dallas, Texas 75230. This is at 635 (LBJ Freeway) and Hillcrest.
